It's like 90 degrees by 1130am in that part of the country. They probably keep doors open to help with air circulation. A small rural school in TX ("low taxes! business friendly!") doesn't have the money for a badging system with magnetic locked doors.

Do you really think it's normal to keep kids boxed inside small classrooms with no fresh air all day to prevent school shootings?

I observed six A/C compressors lined up outside the back door the gun man used.  Of course they have A/C. It’s also a fairly new school. You sure are twisting yourself to defend an incompetent SRO.  I’m a retired police officer and they used to only send screw ups to be SROs. I guess it’s the same there. We know the one at Stoneman-Douglas was an undisputed coward.  The mayor and most of this town’s police department need to be fired and probably criminally charged.  What did the mayor really spend police training funds on?  I bet there’s a story there.[/quote]

You are not going to get the best of the best for a school district salary.  But I guess it's easier to sit around and blame a cop, than to face the truth that Americans would rather have thousands of dying kids than submit to the most basic of gun safety measures (background checks, licensing, liability insurance).[/quote]
