DP. To be precise, GDS college counseling doesn't use Naviance at all. Only SCOIR. Maybe we don't know what we are missing but the CC office has done a great job of helping my student and their friends to shape their lists and manage EA/ED etc.[/quote]

No. Counselors access to info and will use to inform their advising but do not share with parents or students. [/quote]

My DC was able to see all scattergrams with the counselor.  They never had an issue going over them with and actually was always very supportive even when scattergrams looked like a long shot.  And I’m glad counselor never discouraged because some of those reaches worked out.  If counselor had discouraged as you all want them to do, we would never have known that admissions are just a crapshoot.  And sometimes you can get in without being at the top.  [/quote]
