How is it even possible to have MORE infections than at any other time when we ha e a vaccine??? For the love of god, Desantis is killing people and taking his economy. Someone needs to tell Ronny boy #ETTD (everything Trump touches dies.) [twitter]https://twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1421576405142355974?s=21[/twitter]
tanking economy.
He's been on a Covid-Schmovid kick since 2020. All of Florida's revenue comes from tourism. Things like the Disney Parks and sales from hotels/restaurants on the coasts account for 77% of the state operating budget. Which is why he won't acknowledge how bad it is in his state.
I can only speak for myself and the people I know - but after one brief glorious burst of feeling safe enough t go to restaurants, movies, museums, and malls again, we've now retreated back into our homes trying not to get sick. I can't imagine it's good for the economy when the people who live here aren't willing to risk our health to go out. Getting COVID under control would make all of us more comfortable getting back out and spending money in our communities again. Sure, we'll go back to takeout, and grocery delivery - so it's not NO money we're spending. But we'd more or less gone back to normal. We saw four movies in the theater. Back to just being able to DO things. It's over again. Yes, vaccinated - so hopefully not going to end up on a vent if we get sick - but I don't want to court COVID. Oh and where I live - Tampa Bay - we've had a horrible red tide outbreak this summer, too, that's literally turned our waterways into poison. Thousands of tons of marine animals have died, the stench was unbearable - so boat captains, people who fish for a living, beachside hotels, and anyone else who relies on the water being clean and not poisonous is suffering economically, too. And DeSantis's response has basically been an eff you because we voted blue around here. It's never possible to pinpoint exact causes, but it's thought this red tide outbreak is related to that awful Piney Point industrial spill earlier in the summer. He is such a gigantic turd. I HATE him. I hate that man with every ounce of my being.
