Just saw this tjread. Wow the traffic on seminary is now insane. We now have a flood of cars pouring down Fort Williams parkway and Trinity that used to be a trickle. Thank you, Waze. Thanks even more to Justin and the council who were persuaded by the Transurban-bought Nike lobby. Thanks all! We’ve started a petition to drop the speed limit to 15 and introduce no left turn signs at strategic intersections within area neighborhoods to keep the traffic on Quaker and Seninary, and off of the side street cut throughs. Please consider signing it!
Just an FYI - that probably isn’t happening on Fort Williams. I know this is new for you all, for most of your fellow Central Alexandria neighbors have dealt with that traffic for years on a near daily basis. There is close to zero chance the city will do anything to push more traffic on those roads. One of the central tenets of the Central Alexandria Traffic Task Force is that the city would look for wholesale rather than piecemeal solutions to cut through. And SHA already voted against a turn restriction on east Trinity, so any relief to west Trinity is a no go.
The changes to Seminary seem like a piecemeal solution.
