Rapinoe and Morgan were not being doubled. Morgan was seeing lots of elbows and was rendered pretty ineffective. Take away the game against Thailand and she was a bust.

I actually felt plenty of times through the tournament that Morgan was playing hurt and could have used more of a break. She did however get stuck in every single game, drew the foul for the first and set up the second vs France, and sent us through with a class header vs England. Her off the ball run set up the space for Lavelle to take on the CB and get off the shot in our second goal today. You keep a striker around for those contributions. I also wonder if Press would thrive playing as a 9.[/quote]
