She set up 2 of our 3 dangerous chances just now.
LOL Rapinoe should not be on the field. Seriously she is not of the quality the rest of the team. Do you know much about soccer? Even the political correct 1/2 time show was talking about subs. It’s was Rapinoe they were talking about.
DP. Can you explain further? Perhaps I don’t understand soccer very well, but I’m having a hard time understanding how she said not as good as the rest when she saw one of their leading scorers.
Please if you think Rapinio should be on that field you know nothing about soccer. She is a liability out there and the team had to cover for her. She scored because of the teams around her. Again how did she score the goals? Did she create chances? No. Any time the ball went to her and she was pressured it was a turn over. Press is better. Dunn is better. Seriously talk to a few people who know soccer. You obviously know nothing about soccer.
That is why I asked you to explain it to me. I’m happy to hear the reasons behind your opinion if you care to share them.
She can not take player on 1v1, she turns the ball over when pressured(over 8 turn overs in this game in the final 1/3), she has no pace, she is lazy(does not track back or win the ball), she is out of position, her first touch is bad, the other field players must adjust to cover for her because she is out of position, only one defender is sent when she has the ball, her passes are off in terms of weight, touch and timing, etc. etc. She should not be on the field. Oh but she scored 6 goals( 3 penalty kicks, one lucky free kick). She should not be on the field.
And she scored 6 goals and 3 assists, set up 3 scoring chances in the final, vindicating the coach’s choice that she should be on the field. Your stupidity and bias don’t hold up against her contributions towards winning this World Cup. She was clutch, sorry. Cry about it, go yell it out in public through a megaphone. But she’s a back to back world champion.
LOL. My 12 year old DD and friends said pretty much the same as the pp. They were very disappointed to see her bad play receive awards. I guess you think the place kicker on the Patriots is the reason they win super bowl?
I feel like the lesson here to your DD has been lost.
Agreed. And as a PP I’ll post my bit again... I’m so proud of the women. Say what you will about individual players, this is another incredible accomplishment. There are many polarizing athletes but as a woman and former player I hope we can rcelebrate the better aspects of what this means for girls moving forward.
It means nothing moving forward. US Soccer still needs to be sued for equal pay. People are more than happy with the way they played so zero evolution of the game form a player selection or development standpoint. No new king on the hill to knock off making things interesting. It might as well be another Patriots Super Bowl win for as interesting as it is and its ability to truly advance the interest in the women's game internationally.
I disagree. The more our girls see that anything is possible the more they will refuse to accept all of the naysaying which is unfortunately evident in this forum.
The game is already strong here. "Our girls" don't need to see that anything is possible. They already know our women's team is great. What "all girls" need is a strong, vibrant and healthy women's game world wide. Having more than just America in the finals for more than a decade will actually do more to promote the game than our dominance will. Girls in France, England, Spain, Italy want their own heroes too.
