DS got offer to play Stoddert travel or PPA travel for the first time at U10- we live in DC, so these are logically close. He's not going to be on a top team, but he's excited to be part of travel soccer and to work on his skills to go along with his aggressive play. Anyone have experience with both and want to share their thoughts on which program will teach the best or build skills best going forward. We're not the type of people who move around a lot, so we'd like to know which people think will build the best foundation for a successful soccer career if he stays with it. Success= fun and skill building.
My son has played Stoddert travel for several years. He didn’t start out on the top team but is there now. He loves it and his skills have improved a ton. Most kids who start with Stoddert seem to stay there, which can make it hard to break in later. We know a few kids who have switched to Arlington or Bethesda, but I don’t know the reasons. Don’t know anyone who has gone to PPA and I don’t know enoufh to offer a comparison. Good luck deciding.
