Some people don't do well in an emergency.  I happen to be the opposite - my head totally clears and I see exactly what to do and I do it. Not everyone has that skill.  She was 45 minutes from a vet, she had a hysterical 7 yr old with her, she wasn't sure if she should move her dog, she didn't know if she needed to be monitored during the seizure (as opposed to throwing her in a car and driving to a vet), there is no Vet 911.  Perhaps Cookie's vet is in NYC, not in the Hamptons, so she doesn't have a relationship with any local vets.

It's not what I would have done, but I understand her crowd-sourcing information.  She crowd-sourced some freaking planes to get supplies to Puerto Rico; she knows that strategy works. [/quote]
