longtime lurker, NP here not from NoVA.  All these little programs don't pretend like they're some soccer juggernaut.  They just provide travel soccer for communities.

I think Valor gets so much mockery and hate because it's a poser hawking BS crap product to families and players.  CYA and SYA families rightfully believe they are big enough and good enough to deserve the bare minimum of what passes for professionalism in travel soccer management.  Valor (and its marketing hype man here on DCUM) front like they're Loudoun, Bethesda or some giant club, but yes, behind the facade of Instagram and Fathers Day Fiesta tchotchkes it's just a total joke. They seem to put more into social media and marketing more than hiring and retaining quality coaches. It’s like they are out there to see who they can sucker into paying their high fees while laughing behind the families’ backs that their kids are actually terrible at soccer.

Many of those clubs seem to do more with less. They don’t come off quite as braggy and are not trying to extract money from families at every turn. [/quote]
