As I have watched two of my daughters navigate through the recruiting process, the fact of the matter is, players get recruited from all types of teams.... from top to lower level ECNL teams, GA teams, NPL, etc. It's not hard to get your daughter in front of coaches (ID Camps, showcases (with their team or guest playing), and invites to league games). At that point, if she can play, she can play. Sure, added exposure helps, sure playing at a high level is key in development... but in no way is it absolutely necessary to play on the top team in the top league to get noticed. I personally know a lot of girls that are committed to P4 teams that currently play on ECNL/GA teams with losing records. You also don't need to play in front of 100 coaches (not that it is a bad thing) ... you just need to play in front of the RIGHT coach and making that happen is a process players and parents can navigate pretty simply.
