I wish the pro ECNL parents could have seen the league in 2019/2020. Your cult was desperate and taking anyone that would apply. The GA/MLSN alliance thing is going to continue gaining momentum. Just wait until clubs start switching in groups.
I'm not pro any league. IDK why people can't accept the facts that ECNL is still king with a huge gap. I'm referring to this moment in time, even after the GA additions. We all know GA has watered down their league with these mid to low additions. That doesn't mean GA won't be the top league in 3-5 years. Maybe their plan will work out. I really don't care. I don't understand why it's so hard for people to acknowledge the facts for this moment in time.
The same college scouts and recruiters attend both GA and ECNL events.
no they don't. ECNL gets double the amount of scouts especial D1 and this upcoming season it's gonna be worse for GA if their showcases dates and amounts stay the same. GA's only showcase with every age group that is their biggest turnout of coaches had a huge drop this season from the previous year. and this year, the ECNL moved their showcase up a week to the first week of DEC, the same week as the GA showcase. also the same dates as the CASL showcase in NC that has a decent turnout. so in the first week of DEC you will have: GA Showcase - California ECNL Showcase - Kansas City CASL showcase - North Carolina where you think most of the college teams will go?
My kid plays on a top GA team her tram gets more looks than most ECNL teams that are the same age. Something i do know is the top clubs can get players recruited and it doesn't matter which league the play in. Also I don't understand why parents think the number of recruiters attending an event is a good or bad thing. The only one that matters is the one looking at and in contact with your kid.
exactly for GA which is what we have all been saying about the GA only has a few good clubs, like less than 15. if you don't play play for a Champions Club team or a team in the playoff, the chance of getting recruited in GA is almost 0. But in the ECNL, the attendance at all their showcases are so good, more teams/kids get seen at all their showcases. the numbers prove it. it is just a fact. I don't understand how you can't see that the more coaches at a showcase is not a good thing? more opportunities to be scene. pretty obvious.
It's the small fish, big pond effect. The goal for players at a showcase is to stand out from the rest of the crowd. And not to stand out to hundreds of coaches but to stand out to the few coaches you have already been in contact with and are on their radar already. Exposure is not the issue. Most of these coaches will attend both ECNL and GA events. The challenge is standing out and getting noticed. For some players, they will be able to stand out more at GA events. There is no one size fits all for everyone.
