^^ men have fewer scholarships due to title 9. Football uses up so many scholarships (80)that the women's programs have to balance them out and there are far fewer men's programs than there would be without title 9.
Always with the excuses guys. There aren't any more "scholarships" in women's lax than in men's - there are very little money in getting recruited for lax period. Its about getting recruited - getting into a top college, and being wanted at a top lax program. Boys from this area have no where near the success girls do.
NP here, with no wish to put down either men's or women's lacrosse or any local program. I looked up the NCAA stats for lacrosse, and while it's true that the available scholarship equivalencies are about the same (12.6 for men and 12 for women), there are a lot more women's D1 programs than men's: 115 vs. 71 (Here's the link: http://www.scholarshipstats.com/lacrosse.html) That difference presumably is a direct result of T9, and does make it harder for men to get recruited.
There are 50% more D1 women’s programs, but aren’t men’s rosters 50% larger, resulting in the same absolute number of players?
