I think it's being closeted that led to such risky behaviors, living a lie, or possibly self loathing as a result of some kind of abuse suffered as a child.  He has been accused of molesting young male actors on movie sets, so he was probably abused himself.  (isn't it common that abusers have abuse in their history?)[/quote]

Apparently, this was common practice - for young boys to be molested by older men in Hollywood.  I suppose it was a way to groom them for "better roles."

I read somewhere else where Sheen was the "adult male."  Sheen was 21 at the time.
