The FS building could accommodate a high-school. If a ward 2/3 high school is actually on the table the building would work. The IB families for FS-SWW could then be reassigned to Ross, Hyde-Addison or Marie Reed.
So Hardy would be the middle school that feeds to the Francis Stephens High School? And who would feed to Hardy? Or do you mean stick to the Educational Campus Idea that is at FS now, and have Hyde Addison, Ross, and Marie Reed feed to Francis Stephens at middle school? Could be a decent school.
Hardy may not be much, but it's better than FS. Considering that Hardy is NOT full of IB students now, why would Hyde leave Hardy for FS? Ross and Marie Reed don't have any good options, so they might go for it, but I can't see anyone at Hyde thinking that was anything other than stupid.
The premise underlying the whole thing is that DCPS would cut Hardy out from going to Wilson; so Hardy (along with all of the other elementary feeders to Hardy) would need a new high school. The hypothetical is that the new HS would be at the F-S site. Hardy and its feeders would be a pretty good student population for a new HS, assuming the parents understood they'd be getting a Wilson duplicate. Plus, F-S already has a public pool next door. That's cool. and there is a whole lot of grassy park surrounding F-S that could be converted into athletic use.
