They have his biological daughter. Now the Capiobiancos want Dusten Brown to pay their legal fees and other expenses in the Baby Veronica case.
KRMG has confirmed with Brown's lawyers that court action is underway to recover possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars from Brown.
The little girl, known as Baby Veronica, was handed over to her adoptive parents, Matt and Melanie Capobianco, Monday night.
The couple, along with Veronica, then began the 1,000 mile drive from Tahlequah to the Capobianco's home of South Carolina.
Earlier Monday, the Oklahoma Supreme Court said it didn't have jurisdiction in the adoption dispute involving the 4-year-old Cherokee girl.
The biological father, Dusten Brown, lives in Oklahoma and has been fighting the adoption in court.[/quote]
