I just need dems to have real plans short and long term and make real changes for people. Not just cow to industry and corporation and big donors.
I'd argue that Democrats have those plans and in fact have passed those plans into law in ways that have likely helped you personally, but somehow the stories of success fade a lot more quickly than the outrage cycle of the media. Three examples off of the top of my head - 1) Affordable Care Act - eliminated pre-existing condition exclusions by health insurers as well as mandated certain screenings and medication be provided free of charge to consumers, among other things, which were real changes for real people. GOP reaction? vote to repeal 19? or 20? times and file lawsuits to gut it as much as possible; 2) Consumer Financial Protection Bureau - since its found returned $21 billion to consumers. Was set up to make real changes for people in the form of protecting the average citizen from predatory financial practices. GOP reaction? lawsuits and attempts to defang it from from the very beginning. They succeeded when Trump was able to install the director of the CFPB and cease all enforcement activities. 3) Build Back Better - all Republican Senators voted against and then campaigned on the resources it brought to their states. I don't think Democrats are perfect by any means, but people seem angry that Democrats can't flip a switch and make everything they way they want it to be. But Democrats also seem to be the only party actually trying to do any of it.
I 100% agree with you and those are all things they have done I'm talking about when the Blue Wave comes they need to tsunami the f*** out of the government because they try to do this one big thing and the ACA has always been chipped away and it's constantly this thing that Republicans go after and I spend lots of time on it Vanessa consumer financial protection bureau which is hamstrung and no longer really even as effective thanks to Trump they need an across the board strategy not just big stuff.
They will need to pass ethics legislation to ensure the last decade never happens again, including perhaps making the DOJ and FBI completely independent, but with guardrails. They need to pass another voting right act, another civil rights act, and reform, possibly something like proprotional representation for all states, to end the gerrymandering nonsense. Make DC a state, add to SCOTUS so each district has a justice, but still have only 9 rule on any given case to ensure randomization of the judges so the system can't be gamed. I could go on, but those are the bare minimum.
