So if mgmt doesn’t announce the appeal decision, will the union finally break its silence? Or is it still playing 4D chess by staying silent (not even acknowledging the arbitration decision on its website) in the hopes that such silence will give it some advantage 6 years from now?
Union is negotiating the comp agreement so it should and likely will stay silent until that is finalized. Telework isn’t only thing they are working on.
They probably have more leverage on comp than telework since we got our full budget and we have a lot fewer people. It will take two to tango on telework and I don’t think anyone knows what management has or will offer, if anything.
What leverage? What will the union do if mgmt doesn’t give into its comp demands? Send a mean email? Any comp increase will be bc mgmt thought it was a good idea, in order to retain staff, not bc GG made demands.
Maybe. But it seems like you broadly think the union serve no purpose and it isn’t related to any specific topic or administration, no? Do you ever think there is or has been a point where the union has provided tangible benefits to employees.
NP, I think the union has a purpose and provided tangible benefits but a union only works when you have an administration that is acting in good faith. The union, like all of us, is being pushed into a corner full of shit. The light is starting to shine on this administration’s incompetence. I think there will be a huge shift by November. Whether that makes a difference for us will remain to be seen but, sooner or later, they will lose.
