My daughter is first team in a major club and is doing well there but needs more competition in training. What is the process if we make a club change? Should she actually go to ID sessions? Just reach out to coaches? Will there by ECNL tryouts after the Id sessions or is this the tryout? How do people navigate this with their current club if they aren’t sure what they want to do?
I hate to tell you but if you are asking this question now, then it is too late and to focus on the following year.
Parents are trying to protect limited positions. Reach out to coaches anyways!
My point is that it has been well documented that just showing up to a tryout cold is pretty much too late. Also, if you do not know the process, then you are way too late. But hey, you do you, but I would not get your hopes up. I am not protecting anything, just keeping it real.
How did the 2014 FVU roster get built?
Look on their website. There is a u12 program. Kids have been practicing in the fall. But yea, if base chasing then that is the best place to pursue.
For those who don't make the 2014 U13 GA or ECNL rosters, where to? The club's Aspire or RL teams or moving elsewhere (where?)?
It depends on what you are trying to achieve and accomplish. RL is much more established but that may not be the right answer for your DD. The best answer is probably to find a club and coach that resonates closest to your interests. It is very hard to get promoted internally so take that into account in case you want to make the jump later.
