The claims about Dufief being picked on for diversity and socioeconomics are incredibly disingenuous. Most of the black/Hispanic and lower income diversity at Dufief comes from the Learning Center self-contained special ed students, which makes up almost 33% of the school. If it weren't for the Learning Center, the school would be more like Monocacy ES in size. The Learning Center students are pulled from multiple clusters and most of them don't have Frost or Wootton as their home school anyway. They are being pulled in from high-FARMS neighborhoods like Meadow Hall, Twinbrook, and Brown Station. Some kids are coming from as far as Poolesville, because Dufief is the assigned Learning Center placement for all these neighborhoods. When it comes time for middle school, the placement decisions are made based on their home address, not Dufief. Stop pointing to racial and socioeconomic diversity without any understanding of what's actually behind those numbers. The Dufief feeder zone without the Learning Center kids is quite well-off enough and is not any more diverse than Stone Mill or Travilah.
Learning center info is valid. But I disagree that the school isn’t diverse outside of the learning center. Also, check price of average cost of homes in each neighborhood and tell us all three schools are equal.
True to an extent, but it's kind of a distinction without a real difference. And the change.org petition says "Decrease diversity in Wootton and Frost by removing DuFief, a school with significantly more free and reduced-price meals, African American, and Hispanic students" The FARMS and the Black/Hispanic students are almost entirely Learning Center kids who don't live in the neighborhood and won't attend Wootton cluster schools anyway. Very misleading.
The information to verify what you are claiming is not publicly available. How are you so sure their statements are misleading?
