“Every single mayor who has preceded him had at least some relevant experience. He has zero.” “He has been in the state legislature for five years. Better than nothing but not much. That does not qualify him to run NYC in the slightest. LaGuardia served in the House (in DC) for over 10 years. Koch served similarly for eight years plus had extensive legal experience before that.” So in the space of a few hours you went from “he has zero relevant experience whatsoever” to “his 5 years in one legislature is in no way remotely comparable to another mayor’s 8 years of experience in a different legislature.”
You are nitpicking to avoid admitting that he is not qualified. Perhaps I should have said "virtually zero." He also has "virtually" zero professional experience beyond that. Being a NY state legislator is not comparable to being in the House in Washington. Your pathetic attempt to equate his experience to those of prior mayors was very easily debunked, but now you are trying to reframe it. Your efforts are truly pathetic. Could you man/woman up and admit that he is a flawed candidate. See how I just admitted I made a mistake? Are you capable of that? Or are you going to be like MAGA and be 100% behind a candidate and refuse to admit any of their flaws. That attitude takes away all of your credibility and it also just makes your golden boy Mamdani look worse. Look. We are stuck with him. I wish him nothing but the best. We could do worse. But he is a deeply flawed candidate. Refusing to admit that is childish and non-constructive. To his credit, he does seem to be making some effort to engage with others who disagree with him. The question is how much he is actually listening. Hopefully a lot. I'm not saying he needs to completely pivot and be a totally different person. But he needs to come back to reality.
