The problem was that neither Democrats nor Republicans were going to call for him to step down at that stage. Democrats could not for self preservation reasons, because they had spent a lot of political capital protecting and defending Biden’s cognitive decline. Republicans were not going to call for Biden to step down because they wanted to run against Harris as an actual, incumbent sitting President.[/quote]

Trump was a very weak and vulnerable incumbent candidate in 2020 so the Dems decided to return the favor in 2024. You can call it complete dysfunction out of our two major parties or call it a Uniparty symptom... whatever it is, it's disgusting.[/quote]
