https://www.cato.org/blog/new-data-show-migrants-were-more-likely-be-released-trump-biden According to new data published last month, the Biden Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has removed a higher percentage of arrested border crossers in its first two years than the Trump DHS did over its last two years. Moreover, migrants were more likely to be released after a border arrest under President Trump than under President Biden.
Lol. Releases over two year period: Trump (51% of encounters) •712,930 (by Jan-2021) Biden (49% of encounters) •2,440,145 Most blatant example of “spin” I’ve seen in a long time. Trying to use a 2% difference to say Biden was more likely to expel migrants. Even though absolute numbers are obscenely different.
lol. It puts the lie to the claim that Biden isn’t enforcing immigration laws and trump did.
Trump didn’t abuse parole, and he made every effort available to restrict immigration and close the border via executive orders. Biden undid those executive orders and broadcast his deportation moratorium to the world. Perception trip to the border will be worth it=more migrants try Perception it will be a waste of time=less migrants. Biden broadcast the former and so numbers exploded. And he hasn’t actually tried to issue any policies or EOs to stem the tide.
BS he fought to keep Title 42 in place and the courts rescinded it.
This. We have a president trying to follow the law and the right is SCREAMING "but Trump was able to do it" - ya, illegally. THIS is why we need the border bill to be passed. Can people posting on this issue from the right please begin to understand this?
+1. Even Trump begged for Congress to pass a border bill while he was president.
And they didn't because they want this to remain a campaign/political issue. It is literally the ONLY thing the right has to run on. And yet Trump has exposed the problem. The right won't pass a bill, so all of this manufactured BS about the crisis at the border has gotten all the people posting here riled up and angry, just where the right wants them. they don't actually want to address or solve the problem.
