This has gone too far when people are conjecturing about how they afford their lifestyle. FYI - Tesla's can cost less than a Jeep.
Stop it with the nanny language police. And you make no sense. "Teslas can cost less than a Jeep." Uh, ok, and both still are a financial stretch for a fed, a nurse and a family with expensive in home childcare. Never mind when ONE EARNER IS NOW DEAD, cutting income significantly. I think it "went too far" when BB and au pair started swanning around like "the last of the real ones" IRL in public and on socials, not to mention it was WAY TOO FAR when 2 human beings were MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD, but that's just me. Gossip about the neighbor's stuff and what it costs? It's called keeping up with the Joneses!
I don't think you know how much things cost and how much these people make. A PICU nurse probably makes $100K. A GS-15 probably makes $175. A Tesla costs $35K, and if he's leasing it, it's maybe $300/month. The Au pair costs maybe $1500/month (cheaper than daycare). His mortgage (inc. tax and insurance) is probably less than $3500 a month. He could easily afford these things even on his salary alone.
BS. My husband is a GS15 and although he makes about 184k/year, he brings home only about 7200k/month - net, after taxes, 401k, flex spending, etc. Out mortgage is $2100k/month, but that is only because we had inheritance money to pay a bigger down payment (our house is worth about 900k, in Reston and when we bought it, it cost us 675k, with about 50% down payment). No way we could have afford an aupair, a preschool tuition, student loan, tesla car payment, etc only on his salary alone.
Sorry you can't manage your money well. The truth is, we don't know anything about their financial situation - maybe their parents helped them buy the house, maybe his parents are helping him continue to pay for the au pair or the mortgage on his house. Maybe they did really well in the stock market (we own stock in Tesla, it's increased by 1000% since we bought it). Maybe he inherited money from his grandparents. You have no idea, but clearly he CAN afford to stay there.

Sorry you can't manage your money well
Why would you even post this? This thread is heavy on the contempt trolling. Brendan and Juliana are not the only twisted people in the DMV. PP, thanks for sharing some actual IRL numbers.
You have no idea, but clearly he CAN afford to stay there.
No, YOU have no idea of his finances, you are also just speculating. like other posters. It's not clear to anyone that he can afford to stay, he could be on the verge of bankruptcy for all we know and unless you are his accountant, that includes you. He could be living it up knowing a cage is likely in his future. We are all just guessing. Have you never heard of the concept of people living beyond their means? The good taxpayers of the state of VA are on the hook for Juliana Peres Magalhaes, hopefully that will include Brendan Banfield very soon. It's possible he would have relocated back to Long Island but was told to stay in the area, we have no idea. It's very likely that he is or soon will be on leave as an FBI agent, does that reality get past your smug know it all mindset? Not to mention, cough, unemployable in LE, cough. Do you see how mean and silly you are acting? It's like all the posters thinking he's pulling in $150k+ when a few years ago he was making $68k. Other people's IRL experiences have value too, not just your mean girl attitudes and everyone is speculating. How they could go about their lives, splurge on new cars, go out to dinner, having held a gun and killed a man in cold blood and having brutally stabbed your wife and the mother of your child to DEATH, you know, the likely co-owner of the house, is beyond me.
