Just in case people don't know what the Shriver program is and why it takes up space, it's for daily living skills for middle school and high school kids iwth autism: Shriver Program is a secondary school for Arlington Public School students who have special needs. The program is located in Arlington, Virginia. Students attend middle and high school life skills classes as well as classes for students with autism.
I haven’t been recently posting on this thread, but I didn’t know that. Thank you for sharing this info. I hope it’s large and resources enough to serve all the students who could benefit from attending.
Its not a program for kids with autism, although some also have autism. Its a program for kids with significant disabilities who, in many other school systems, would have an out-of-system placement.
