What is the praxis II? I am Elementary and licensed in Virginia in the last few years and had to take the multiple subjects and teaching reading test. I did not even see a praxis II.
For MS and HS: Praxis II is the subject area test for the teacher - pass score requirement to show content knowledge for the class.
Ok so not required for elementary.
ETS has Praxis tests for ES, MS, and HS. Some teachers call the ES test Praxis and call subject area Praxis: "Praxis 2". Trainees should be made to take the Praxis or subject area Praxis at the start of the year. Last year was a mess. -Teacher
Yes I got it. I was just saying that “praxis II” or whatever you want to call it is not required for elementary. Requesting it at the beginning is tricky because of testing availability and the praxis subject areas are lengthy.
I think PP primarily means they would take it prior to teaching/being hired. That it is the most important criteria. Many Praxis II tests can be done virtually at home versus one. Many of us took them at a testing center.
+ 1 There is virtual at home testing and testing center option available to take the Praxis in the summer or in September.
