I think what happened to the inmate is terrible, but I also think we are discounting that prison in general is an extremely violent place. Prisoner on prisoner violence is unfortunately a given.
Wow! So women should be OK with trans women sexually assaulting and raping women because prisoner on prisoner violence happens? So if violence against women is not big deal because as you say because "violence happens", then why should anyone care about violence against trans and gay people?
No one is saying that, you fool. Prison is a violent place, and inmates are likely to be assaulted by inmates and guards. Is violence by trans inmates awful and should be handled? Yes. However, you conveniently leave out that trans inmates are much more likely be victims of violence in jail. Yet, I don't see you crying over them.
I just want to make sure I have this right. Trans women are allowed to be fearful of men, but if women claim to be fearful of male violence, they are TERFs. Did I get that right?
That indeed seems to be the position here.
No, just incredibly disingenuous. Male violence is a problem for everyone. Period. But I haven't seen such (fake, faux, crocodile tears) concern over violence against women since I started working in the field in 1992. The only time any of you liars give a crap about violence against women is when it's some anomaly in prison. Male violence in prisons has been an issue for long enough that an entire national resource center is dedicated to it, PREA exists for a reason. One news article, even a few, that shows that sometimes trans women also commit violence means d!ck. It means violence happens in prisons. If every act of violence in prison made the news there'd be room for nothing else. It makes the news because it's rare. But you acting all boo hoo about violence against women - omg there's violence against women, we must stop these trans people from committing such heinous acts against our lovely women - is sickening. You don't give two craps about violence against women. You care about your new justification to hate trans people. Save it, we don't need your faux concern or outrage. Where the hell have you been all these years? Not giving a crap, that's where.
Why don’t we place transwomen on their own then? Why are they required to go into women’s prison?
Are you unaware that women’s primary function is serve as emotional support humans for suffering males? How will trans women ever be able to feel fulfilled if they can not access each and every existing single-sex space on the planet?
