[/quote] A vote against legalization is a vote for keeping it illegal, which means sending people to jail (Or at least subjecting them to the criminal justice system). Do you feel there is something inherent about pot that it can't be regulated any other way than through criminalization? There are lots of nuisances in the big city -- noise, lights, trash. But we treat them as civil matters, we fine people. Why should the person who smokes pot in public be treated more harshly than the illegal dumper?[/quote]
