Early signs of where Twitter will go under Musk - non-political users like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry lose significant numbers of followers as ordinary people are deactivating the accounts, which right wing extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Bolsonaro see significant upticks from the RWNJs flocking to the site. Twitter will become what Truth Social tried and failed to be. It will be interesting to see what this does to twitter’s ad revenue.
You truly know nothing about how business works. This entire musk saga has generated so much buzz. People who haven’t been interested in twitter ever are now checking out the platform. This is keeping things fresh. Twitter was in decline for quite a while now. If anything, this will boost Twitter up and keep it to stay more relevant. Losing a few 100k bot accounts that never used the site to begin with don’t matter much in the long haul.
Twitter put out a statement that their analysis indicates they were not bot accounts, it was organic changes from real users deactivating their accounts. If Twitter becoming another Parler is your idea of staying relevant, well, we will have to agree to disagree. But I certainly won’t be using it anymore if that’s where it goes.
