I was thinking that Vassar seemed to be regarded as the top in the 80s/90s, and now it is mid-top. Seems like it is still a fantastic school, not saying anything about the quality, just the prestige. People my age think it equates with top 10, but it is current in the low 20s on the US News list (not sure what this actually counts for) and seems to be easier to gain admission than Wesleyan.
