They are in the last gasps. The only way they have any power is by rigging the vote via blocking turnout and gerrymandering, and now by trying to seize power via coups where they simply ignore legal votes. They’re still incredibly dangerous for now, but so long as we prevent these nuts from stealing control, they’ll die off within another decade. All the demographics show that GQPs are largely old and uneducated. They’re slowly killing themselves through their own grift and stupidity. We will replace them.
That’s a lot of “ifs.” And I see no evidence that the brainwashing will stop. The number of people who still vote Republican is about a hundred percent too many.
If anything the brainwashing will increase. You can already see it on this board and every other one on the internet. In the past couple years the number of people spouting coordinated GOP talking points have increased exponentially. Once you learn to spot it you see it everywhere, and it all traces back to that media brainwashing. Any of these little chestnuts sound familiar? "Oh, you think black people are too stupid to figure out how to get an ID? That makes you the real racist!" "Democrat leaders have failed their cities/states and let them become cesspools, that's why people are moving to red states!" "Covid is worse than ever and Joe Biden campaigned on getting rid of it!" They're all carefully crafted, focus-grouped messages that get seeded into conservative media and astroturfed on the internet until all the good little conservative commentators know exactly what they're supposed to say, and say it so much they get others to believe it. Why do you think Bannon was so focused on internet demographic data, to micro target the people most susceptible to propaganda with propaganda tailored to what they are most likely to believe and spread. It's absolutely genius sadly. Notice they all have just enough of a grain of truth to make even a hardcore liberal stop and think "huh, maybe they've got a point," but of course when you look deeper they're all completely false and misleading. Not being able to get an ID because the GOP government shut down all the DMVs in black neighborhoods and the public transit system is a joke due to GOP cuts doesn't make you stupid, it makes you a victim of GOP voter suppression. Liberals aren't moving from blue states to red states because they've seen the light on GOP policies, lower income people are moving from blue states to red states because blue state policies have made the economies there such powerhouses that more people can afford to spend more money on houses making them out of reach for people who can't or won't qualify for those high paying jobs. Covid is worse than ever, but it's not for lack of Biden trying, it's because the very same people blaming Biden for not doing enough are refusing to do any of the things Biden is telling them to do, like get vaccinated, wear a mask, reducing travel, or anything else. The GOP propaganda machine is working better than they could have ever hoped. They're only going to ramp it up.
I am the first poster in the string. I agree they’re trying hard to brainwash, and succeeding with some people. But I dont think they’re super criminals. They’re batshit crazy. There will always be some allure to the Sarah Palin wing, but that’s a dying breed. It’s not like they’ll magically disappear. The same among us need to fight hard to combat their crazy talk, and keep people from being lured into their ridiculous worldview. But make no mistake, we are winning. IMHO, their level of fever pitch is a sign they’re dying out, not a sign they’re strengthening. Check out how they are gradually getting older as a movement. That’s a bad trend for them and good for us. Don’t give up fighting, but know that we are winning.
