i'm coming to this thread very late and not terribly knowledgeable, so I'm sure this has been covered but if the van was hers and he was found in possession of it, shouldn't/couldn't he have been arrested for auto theft and held that way?
Someone will come along and tell you that the van was not reported stolen, so it’s not a crime. That in the police video, he was the driver and she was okay with that, so it makes sense that he would have her car. To the rest of us using common sense, it’s a major red flag for him to be in possession of her vehicle back in Florida, with her having gone missing.
Glad we have a rational, impartial legal system in place, instead of relying on emotions and misguided “common sense” of people like you. It was once “common sense” to burn women as witches, based on perceived “red flags.”
Oh, I’m thrilled that this young man will be going through the legal system. I look forward to the legal system picking apart arguments like “she probably loaned him the car” and “he pretended to be her in a text to her mom because he was scared” and “he was the abuse victim and the missing woman was the abuser”.
