This is such a cock up. Absentee voting was always intended for when you are not able to vote in person. We have nearly two months to get this done. Every jurisdiction should have polls open now and everybody should just go and vote in person with an ACTUAL ID to you know IDENTIFY WHO YOU ARE. Nobody is going to get the Rona from voting. It doesn't work that way. The fact that some of the polling locations are overrun today, TWO MONTHS out, is not something to get outraged about. But, people will rage away, since that is easier. And, when this is all over, and the Orange Man wins anyways, I am sure we will have at least a dozen Supreme Court cases relating to an unending effort to continue counting found ballots. That is how this is all going to shake out. What a joke.
You obviously have not been paying attention to the news. While outdoor gatherings and masks/face coverings significantly decrease the transmission of the virus, it doesn't completely stop it. Take a look at the party of the family in Austin, TX. College frat parties that are causing huge spreads. The Republican convention in Tulsa, OK. The biker rally in Sturgis, SD. Large gatherings, especially where there are many who do not take precautions and are lax about social distancing, help increase the spread. So far things have been fairly well contained by having high risk people avoid such large gatherings and social distance. But not, you are requiring high risk individuals to go out and stand in lines with many people who are lax and nonchalant about following social distancing and mask rules. You are asking many high risk individuals to risk their lives to vote. You are misinformed and insensitive to the dangers to high-risk individuals.
