Local parks, libraries, community centers, etc. Distribute free breakfast and lunch. This is a local area benefit (meaning the community is low income, do every child who shows up for a meal is presumed eligible). If you don't live in a low income area you probably haven't seen this happen. . Where I live there are banners in every park. We also have free meals at all community centers when schools are closed for weather and most after school programs provide a free dinner.[/quote]

Exactly. Some children rely on schools for food. And many more parents need child care so they can work. If you have an hourly paid job with no leave and are living paycheck to paycheck, having your child suddenly have no school means you might be out of a job. People need to think broader before saying we need to close schools. [/quote]
