My mother was raised in SS - parts closer to Tk Pk. It's built up. It's convenient to downtown. Walkability is great in some parts. So it's different in that sense. Schools, however, are not the best, and I wouldn't feel safe walking through some of the areas at night. I do think it was safer years ago, as gang activity wasn't on the radar until the 90s. [/quote] I spent a lot of time in SS during my HS years (in the 90's). There were far worse places but it wasn't great. I'd feel safer (but less likely) to walk around it at night now. I'm not saying it's a perfect place but compared to what it was in the 90's it's better now.[/quote]
