The subject of this thread says that Awan was "fleeing". I questioned in my initial posts -- and still question -- whether "fleeing" is the correct term. According to Awan's lawyer -- who has not been contradicted by anyone as far as I know -- Awan informed the government that he was planning to leave the country. Does one normally inform one's pursuers of their travel plans if one is "fleeing"? I don't know why Awan was going to Pakistan. I suggest that you don't know either. Given the lack of knowledge we both share in this matter, it would be wrong for either of us to clearly state the reason for Awan's departure.
Jeff, what is your definition of "Government", DWS? If so, that should make you concerned even more of a cover-up due to the circumstances that lead up to the "vacation" in Pakistan. Don't you find it ironic that the day after the Daily Caller story on the smashed hard drives, Awan is leaving the country? When did he buy the tickets? Was he under FBI surveillance? All of this is still unknown and should be disclosed through the proper legal channels at the right time.
To be clear, according to Awan's lawyer, Awan alerted Michael Morando, a US Department of Justice attorney who is the prosecutor of the original procurement investigation. Again, I submit that a person who is "fleeing" does not alert the person that is investigating them.
Any evidence of that alert, or is it simply what his lawyer is saying?
