Thats not why kids play lax though. Most play because its a great sport and they love it. OTOH it does help with college admission to some of the best schools in the country. But, its not about money (scholarships), its about a "weight on the admissions scale." This is been discussed a great deal at different times on DCUM. Every single Ivy League and top university on the country has at least one girl or boy from the DC metro area playing on or committed to play on its lacrosse team. [/quote]
