I do!

I’m an elementary school teacher who does carpool drop off and pick up duty.

I walk in and out and amongst cars, often large vans, looking out for children, all the time. I walk around “standing” cars (Ie not parked; parents are in the and can drive away at any moment) while I may sometimes walk a child around the car and help them get into their seat.

Cars pulling out out and around other cars with no warning sometimes. Parents are distracted; in a rush. Parents sometimes mouth off to us teachers, for just doing our jobs.

I know the rules- if you are in a street or driving lane of a parking lot, you need to stay alert and stay out of the way of a car.

Until the ice agent decided to pull his gun, the situation was no more dangerous than what I face on a daily basis.

I have no doubt that I would have handled the situation far better than he did. Because I would have just let her drive her car away instead of deliberately stepping in front of a car to try to use the force of my bodily presence to stop the car.[/quote]
