Wouldn't it be better to just put those kids on JV so they at least play?[/quote] Some of the players on the sidelines are designated floaters - promising freshmen who play JV and suit up for varsity though rarely play. These floaters also play in Varsity B games, games against really good JV teams or against the players on opposing varsity who also don't see the field during games. Beyond the floaters, lots of guys on the sidelines who do not play in the games also play in Varsity B games. I think it's a nice idea and seems to be working.[/quote]
