This is exactly what was going on.

Clubs would dual roster the August kids with parents that were looking to play down. Then gradually ween them off the idea of playing down. Players would play league up on the team that was their grade. Then they'd play in tournamants for their grade team and with the grade below them team.[/quote]This a bizarrely specific scenario that seems entirely made up especially when remembering how few players were off grade. Clubs and leagues are saying they actually want players on grade and are driving this, not parents.[/quote]
