If you were considering Hardy for 6th, are you reconsidering after seeing the school's lackluster PARCC scores for white kids? Unfortunately, the white kids at Hardy and Stuart Hobson can't hold a candle to those at BASIS, Deal and Latin (other than for Algebra vs. the Deal kids) on the PARCC. Maybe next year's scores will be more encouraging.
You can't say that because ALL the Latin and BASIS middle school students took the grade level math PARCC (math 6, math 7, math 8), not the Algebra or Geometry tests. DCPS had those students enrolled in Algebra I or Geometry take the related PARCC subject test. So no way to make an apples to apples comparison. OSSE gave each LEA the option to decide what tests to administer. Most of the charters didn't use the PARCC subject tests. -Charter middle school parent
Actually if you look at the scores in the subject areas Hardy scored better than Deal. You put way to much emphasis on these test scores. I am excited to send my IB kids to Hardy. So what's your excuse for the better scores at Deal?
