No there hasn’t because Trump also violated the constitution when he started the war.  Thanks for pointing that out!

And you call us stupid?  Trump absolutely has the authority to call for a military strike without the approval of congress. Plenty of Dem presidents have done it. He has not declared war.

I’m a solid liberal and it makes me ill when other liberals are this poorly informed and are so outspoken about it.

Truman-very famously authorized Korean War without congressional authorization

Kennedy and Johnson authorized various military operations without acts of congress

Are military was all over the world during the Clinton years!  Many actions taken before congress was notified.  Some as part of NATO—still pertinent.

Obama—air strikes in Libya

Biden—hello?  Syria?

This not even distant history.

It might feel like this is way worse but I am in my 50s and I promise you that strikes on Iraq during Clinton era (also without prior authorization by congress) felt just as alarming as what is going on now.

Trump is a scumbag but these particular actions are not illegal and are not without precedent.
