Threads like this one are 99% hysteria and hyperbole and less than 1% fact, and even the facts are wrong. The hysteria mostly focuses on enforcing immigration laws and cutting the size and spend of government. That’s what we voted for and I hope he keeps it up!
Well, DOGE didn’t come close to cutting their spending goal and will, in fact, cost the government more than they are saving. So much winning!!
I don't believe that latest talking point, but let's go with it for now - what is your point? Are you saying that you WANT government to be cut, and you're mad at Trump because he isn't doing enough of it? other than disliking Trump, what do you even stand for?
Np here. We are so tired of repeating ourselves. Of course we all want to actually increase government efficiency and cut the fat. But that’s not at all what Doge is doing. Cutting essential programs and agencies and firing some of the best and brightest does not increase efficiency. If they actually wanted to increase efficiency, they would have put time and effort into pinpointing where cuts should be made. They would have gone after low-performing employees. But they don’t have the attention span for that. I don’t know where you work, but imagine a consultant walking into your office and firing every 5th person they see. And then randomly walking around telling people to stop working on whatever it is they are doing without even trying to understand what it is they do and why. Would this improve your office? Or would it cost more in the long run to clean up the mess? Can you think of smarter ways to improve efficiency/spending in your office? I know many government workers who say that over these past few months, the efficiency and productivity have hit rock bottom. Nobody knows what they are allowed to work on anymore. It is mass confusion. People are literally wandering around because there is nothing they can do. Meanwhile, their actual work is piling up, but they aren’t allowed to do it. Someone said it feels like our country is being run by middle schoolers who have been sucked into the right wing propaganda algorithm on youtube, and that is actually the perfect description.
