She tricked him when Helly R engaged in the ruse of the overtime protocol. He didn't know it was her innie until the speech, even though they talked in the bathroom before the speech. Helly R. is 'his' because he believes he owns all the innies.

That whole scene is about how he loves the innies best. He says when you were a child I saw Kier in you, but then you grew up (changed, gained experience and a personality shaped by the world) and Kier was gone, and I hated you. I saw Kier in you again in the speech and in you now (when she attacked him). I.e., he sees Kier in the innies, who are unadulterated by the world and experience.  So my question is what is Kier to him really? Why does he love the pure id/ego absent life experience?[/quote]
