People who are angry here are people who have kids that did not get in TJ. They do not care if someone at TJ does not do well. It is none of their business how other kids are doing. They are just angry and jealous that their kids did not make it!
A lot of TJ parents and alumni are not happy with the racial discrimination that drove the change in the admissions process. -TJ parent and alumni
Return to merit has begun, starting with the new principal
There is plenty of merit. He can’t change the admissions policy.
Sorry, Bonita was let go, or shown the door, as they say! A new principal has been brought in to restore respect at TJ, and that's going to depend on the students' hard work, mostly Asian students!
40 years ago it was the children of jewish immigrants. 20 years ago, asian meant the children of east asian immigrants, now it largely means the children of south asian immigrants. Neither of us can predict which immigrant group will be flooding the halls of selective schools. The immigrant kids are hungrier than our kids. They always will be. I see how hard the indian kids work and i can't believe the way people on this board talk about those children.
