Harris wasn't an ideal candidate, but Trump was a far worse candidate than Harris. But here we are and Trump is going to be President. We Americans are on the whole, incredibly stupid people.
The election was 6 weeks ago, so it’s really time to get over it and consider the future. Calling the American people “stupid” does nothing to advance the ball. Try to get it out of your system, and think about viable candidates for 2028.
Pretty sure it's fair to say the average American voter IQ is much less than it was 20 or 30 years ago considering we've elected Trump, Biden, Trump in the past three elections. Nothing wrong with acknowledging this stupidity and trying to deal with it in advance of 2028 so that another Trump or Biden isn't elected.
Pretty sure you have no data to support your sweeping statement. NP..check out Gallup. 54% of Americans ages 16-72 have under a sixth grade literacy rate. We've become the stupidest country of the free world.

Please link the Gallup study. My Google search returned the National Literacy Institute. By the way, it also said most of those with below sixth grade level literacy are foreign born, so I'm not sure this is the critique against American intelligence that you think it is.
Link: https://www.apmresearchlab.org/10x-adult-literacy
There have always been a high percentage of illiterate people in this country yet we've for the most part been able to elect fit, qualified, and worthy presidents up until recently. Being illiterate doesn't necessarily guarantee someone to be clueless and careless when it comes to politics and government. Stupidity and carelessness are likely reasons why Americans elected Trump and Biden. Illiteracy is less likely to be a primary reason.
You clearly did not read the survey. Because there is a direct correlation between low literacy rates and immigration. So your lament about stupid and illiterate Americans is really a complaint about stupid and illiterate immigrants. I am not sure if that is the point that you thought you were trying to make but it is in fact the point that you are making. Reduce immigration or at least reduce immigration of low education and skills people and these numbers will improve.
The discussion in this thread is in regard to the continually sinking IQ of the average American voter. it has nothing to do with immigration. It has little to with illiteracy. Plenty of literate people voted for Trump and Biden.
Few literate people voted for Trump. And someone doesn't get math. 54% of Americans includes many more than foreign born ones. Plus, not all immigrants are illiterate. Someone keeps assuming that.
It's right in the study that was linked. It's not an assumption. It says that an outsized number of the people with reduced literacy rates are foreign born. It's crazy to think that "few literate people voted for Trump." Illiteracy is correlated with a number of life circumstances that would significantly impair their ability to vote. Even if your theory is correct that America is dumb and that's why they vote Republican, it doesn't reflect well on Democrats. Why can't they tailor a message that works for all these stupid racist Nazis? Generally smarter people are able to outsmart dumb people.
I think this gets to the problem for Democrats. They posture like smart people but they don’t produce results (either in policy or elections). So smart are they really? A lot of what Democrats think is smart are what even dumb people can understand to be transparently obvious subjective choices.
LOL. I think pp meant that the smart people are the felon and those who back him $$, and the dumb ones are the people who voted for him. You’re Example A.
