So Trump didn't mean what he said, but he meant what he said? Sorry, my MAGA decoder ring is in the shop.
He was talking about the auto industry if things continue down the path they are going. But, you know that.
What path? The auto industry is actually doing well. And he didn't limit it to the auto industry. But, you know that. You KNOW that. Sure consumers are going to freaking love a 100 percent tariff on any foreign made cars. That should be fantastic for everyone.
This path.... [twitter]https://twitter.com/staunovo/status/1769253623291052256[/twitter]
So, you want pollution that causes asthma and ruins the environment?
I want a reliable form of transportation that will take me where I need to go. EVs are nowhere close to that.
Let me guess, you learned about EVs 20 years ago and never bothered to update your info as the technology progressed? I've been driving an EV since 2019 and there is barely any difference between an EV and ICE vehicle, even on long trips. There is absolutely no question that EVs are "a reliable form of transportation that will take people where they need to go" aside from minor fringe cases that only affect a miniscule percentage of consumers.
I live in a rural area with no EV chargers. Literally - none. We have one person in a neighborhood of over 400 families that has an EV. They use it as their "back up car." Or, to do local errands. To get to any significant shopping, I have to travel more than an hour. I am not willing to invest $$ in a vehicle that will require a new battery costing half the price of the vehicle in 8 years. I have lots of other reasons.... but suffice it to say, this country is NOWHERE ready to make the changes that Biden is pushing.
If you live in a place where you have a “neighborhood” of 400 families and not a single one of them knows how to upgrade a home charger, you don’t live rurally. You live in a far right exurb of foot stampers.
