My boss had a home break-in situation by a teen housesitter’s frenemies.

It got out of control, was on camera, things were stolen and damaged as 15+ teens from private and public school vegged out in their home for 2-3 days until the nanny showed up to water some plants.

The violated family came home early from their two week trip and did the following:

Got the name and contacts of all in the house those days (from the teen housesitter)

Emailed them that they have photo and video security evidence and witnesses of their teen in the house. They will not press charges given college apps soon, but do want an apology and their artwork back.

Half the parents made their kid email or in person apologize. Half the other parents said No my kid wasn’t there or had a lawyer send that msg.

The teen house sitter had her house vandalized a week later and switched DC private schools during junior year. [/quote]

I’ve never heard of people breaking in to steal stuff from an home and then parking themselves there for 2-3 days. Sounds like the teen house sitter invited them over. [/quote]

Bullying dynamics are complicated. If the child  resists, the public schools will force the victim to be subject to the abusive criminal whims of the bullies for years. [/quote]
