Trump didn’t abuse parole, and he made every effort available to restrict immigration and close the border via executive orders.

Biden undid those executive orders and broadcast his deportation moratorium to the world.

This id what’s frustrating about people on the left suddenly trying to claim and argue about how Democrats aren’t actually EXTREMELY soft on immigration. They only stsrted caring about it recently and so, unlike the rest of us who have been constantly advocating for more restrictive policies and thus [i]know[/i] which particular politicians are [i]actually[/i] hawkish on the border—they know nothing.

This is a not typical immigration. Trump went on a stupid bender, illegally separating families, banning Muslims, etc. Biden ran as not being Trump. Unfortunately for him, we are in the middle of a global migration crisis, and those words are coming back to bite him.

Congress still needs to fix this. I’m tired of new immigration policy every time a new president is elected. This is Congress’ job. They need to be pushed to do it. [/quote]

the global migration crisis is tied to two things

1) climate change and inhospitalble conditions in certain parts of the world
2) political upheaval/war in certain parts of the world mostly tied to Russia aggression and manipulation: central America, middle east and Ukraine

So, if you want to address the migration crisis, you have to take steps to deal with climate change and you have to take steps to deal with Russia.

That's because Russia is a totalitarian state that can extract wealth from its people and deliver it to foreigners over whom they want influence. Another reason Trump likes authoritarians - they can more easily rob their people and give the money to him. [/quote]
