Not saying those places aren't nice or don't have things for people to do, but the DMV has far more quality museums, restaurants, cultural events, etc. in addition to being drivable to the beach, mountains and other interesting cities.

I have zero interest in going to Alabama but have been to the others - they were fine.  You aren't seriously suggesting that they have more or better museums, concerts, lectures, historical sites, restaurants, etc. than the DMV, are you?  They obviously don't.  Don't get me wrong -- wanting to leave the DMV to experience a different part of the country is a completely valid reason to choose an OOS flagship.  But not because the towns those flagships are in are less boring/lame than the DMV. [/quote]
