What’s the “decent tip” (percentage of the whole bill) you’re expecting here? To clarify: a server sees a person and thinks, I can already tell I won’t get more than __% of the bill with this “DB,” so I’ll just give minimum service.

No, the server doesn't just "see" the person, they interact with them initially and often it's pretty easy to tell who the anti-tipping a*holes are by the way they act.  I'm sure all the anti-tippers on this thread don't think I'm talking about them because they are all just wonderful, polite, fun people who no server would judge harshly.  Some ought to wake up to the concept that if you are anti-tipping and yet you go out to eat at a place where the servers rely on tips to live then just maybe your a*holishness is obvious for everybody to figure out.[/quote]
